100 cal

100 cal is a conceptual exercise app that provides an easy way to keep track of how much calories users burn as they complete each workout. The idea was conceived from current food product marketing trends focusing on whole number calorie figures. Users can now easily calculate their workout time to match their food consumption.

The concept is simple: You burn 100 calories for every completed workout. Workouts can range from 25 to 40 minutes depending on the intensity and equipment selected. Goals can be set at the beginning to keep users on track with their progress.

My intention was to provide different exercises that can be done anywhere with accessible equipment. The app is fun and no two sets of exercises are the same.

Best Buy Canada

Cyber Monday and Black Friday are the two biggest online-sales of the year after Boxing Day. My role was to oversee these projects from design to execution. I lead my design team to change the project layout shifting the focus onto larger product imagery with more distinct price call-out.

As a result, the design changes yielded better than expected sales figures. Compared to 2013, the year-over-year order numbers showed an increase of 115%. Other significant metrics like visitation improved by 17% and conversion rate improved by 2%. The improved sales results can be attributed to better page flow. Product categories were more clearly defined and our customers were more receptive to larger product images, shorter promotional headlines and clearer call-to-action.

Craigslist redesign

Craigslist is a popular community site for local classifieds such as job search, services, item sales and personal ads. Its strength is its simplicity and ease of use, despite the interface missing graphic excitement and content generally disorganized.

My approach for this redesign project was to maintain Craigslist’s strength keeping its text-heavy approach and improving its weakness by reorganizing its content. Small amounts of colour are used to differentiate various sections and to call important content. Consistent design elements are shared between desktop and mobile versions to make it easy to use both formats.

My design philosophy is based on: simplicity, logic & experience.


For the past three years, I’ve been working at Best Buy Canada as a UI designer creating numerous marketing campaigns and promotional material. My core responsibilities include understanding the business requirements and transforming them visually based on the brand guidelines, conducting A/B testing and providing UX solutions.
I believe luck is when preparation meets opportunity. I enjoy expanding my knowledge and refining my skills so I may seize opportunities when they come. I am passionate, focused and imaginative. I enjoy collaborating with like-minded designers and working on meaningful projects that can create a positive impact.
